Sirajul Haq announces Gaza March from Aabpara Chowk to US Embassy on March 10
ISLAMABAD, March 7 (SABAH): Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Sirajul Haq has announced Gaza March from Aabpara Chowk to the US Embassy on March 10 (Sunday).
Sirajul Haq expressed these views while addressing a press conference at the Jamaat-e-Islami Office in Islamabad. Naib Emir JI Mian Muhammad Aslam, Emir Northern Punjab Dr. Tariq Saleem and District Emir Engineer Nasrullah Randhawa were also present on the occasion.
Sirajul Haq appealed to workers of all parties, civil society, students, youth and citizens of both Islamabad and Rawalpindi to participate in Gaza March. He emphasized the government to give roadmap to save Gaza, adding no-one in the new Parliament care about ongoing barbarism in Palestine. In the Parliament awkward actions like showing watches and shoes are being done, he said and added it has begun with abusive language.
It has been over 150 days that Israel is continuing its barbaric acts in Gaza, Palestine, he said. More than 31000 Palestinians have been martyred and more than 71000 have been injured, he added. The entire world including Islamic countries are playing role of mute spectators, he said, adding amazingly OIC is seeing towards the US.
He said the US in support of Israel have vetoed 54 resolutions, adding all are careless about the situation. He said, “We pay tribute to those oppressed people who did not accept Israeli occupation even for one day and they are also equally safeguarding Jerusalem.”
“Bombardment is being done and hospitals have been crushed by tanks. On other side there is dead silence in the Islamic world. We have started a new drive to save Gaza and have helped Palestinians with 1.75 billion rupees,” he said. He added no NGO is capable to do so, saying the state should participate in this regard. He said the new government has not given roadmap of safeguarding Gaza.
Sirajul Haq stressed upon Pakistan and Parliament to not remain silent on this barbarism against Palestinians. He announced Gaza March from Aabpara Chowk to the US embassy on March 10 and appealed to workers of all parties, civil society, students, youth and citizens of both Islamabad and Rawalpindi to participate in Gaza March.
He said the Islamic countries should take practical steps for freedom of Gaza and don’t see towards the US in this regard. After occupation on Gaza, Israel will move towards Medina and Makkah while the Muslim are sleeping now. “I appeal to intellectuals, youth, political workers and well-off to be part of Jamaat-e-Islami in its initiatives,” he said.
To a question, Sirajul Haq remarked, “Put aside politics as it would be discussed throughout the year but situation of Gaza is very alarming so it must be prioritized.” He said the US embassy will try to stop our press conference and coverage.
