Sheikh Rashid Ahmed arrested from his residence in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI, Sep 17 (SABAH):  Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, the Awami Muslim League (AML) chief, former interior minister and close aide of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, was arrested from his residence in Rawalpindi on Sunday, his counsel Sardar Abdul Razaq claimed.

“Rashid was taken into custody by men in plain clothes from his residence in the Pindi housing society,” said his lawyer. He says the former interior minister has been arrested by plainclothesmen from his residence in a private housing society in Rawalpindi.

According to Advocate Sardar Abdul Razzaq, no single case has been registered against Sheikh Rashid in the Punjab province.

Sheikh Rashid along with his nephew Shakir and a servant namely Imran has been shifted to an undisclosed location.

It is important to mention here that since the May 9 events, Sheikh Rashid was in hiding.
