Shehbaz Sharif meets Emir JI Sirajul Haq, seeks support in favor of no-confidence against PM Imran Khan


ISLAMABAD, Mar 09 (SABAH): A day after the submission of a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan, National Assembly Opposition Leader and President of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif called on Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Sirajul Haq on Wednesday to seek his party’s support to oust the premier.

During the meeting at the residence of Naib Emir JI Mian Muhammad Aslam in Islamabad, Shehbaz sharif, on behalf of the joint opposition, requested the JI chief to support the no-trust vote for the sake of 220 million Pakistanis. He said that the no-confidence motion is not the desire and purpose of any single individual but of 220 million Pakistanis who are facing difficulties day and night and their lives have become difficult. He said that for these purposes the no-confidence motion has been submitted.

He said the PTI government has made the lives of the people hell, adding that the ruling party’s mandate was bogus. Shehbaz Sharif said the opposition will also make efforts to woo PTI lawmakers.

“We will remove the government through a constitutional process and go to people to seek a fresh mandate,” the PML-N chief added.

Shehbaz Sharif said that they are in contact with parties for no-confidence motion in Punjab. Shehbaz Sharif said that the opposition will dislodge the selected government through constitutional means.

Shehbaz Sharif said that in politics nothing is final and it’s their right to contact all political parties. PML-N President further said that he has requested JI to support opposition’s no-confidence motion.

On the occasion Sirajul Haq also chided the government over high taxation and hyperinflation. The JI chief said the government has even taxed “every drop of water and morsel of bread”. He said the no-confidence motion against the premier was a constitutional process, adding that the JI will decide on the no-trust move against the premier after meeting the party leadership.

Sirajul Haq said that the change of the personalities is also not the solution of the problem until and unless the system is changed, adding that we should have confidence in masses. Sirajul Haq said that we are supporters of the stance from day one that all the political parties should carryout legislation reforms for holding transparent elections and we should move towards the reforms. He said that the solution of the problems lies in the hands of Almighty Allah instead of individuals. He said that the system of Almighty Allah is the ideology of Pakistan, which is the guarantor of the Pakistan’s progress and prosperity but this system could not be enforced in the country in 74 years. He said that the geography of Pakistan, economy and unity of the county was also harmed.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Chiefs of the JI Liaqat Baloch, Mian Muhammad Aslam, Director Foreign Affairs JI Asif Luqman Qazi, Vice President PML-N and former railways minister Khawaja Muhammad Saad Rafique and PML-N Spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb were also present on the occasion.
