Shazia Marri commiserates with Turkish & Syrian Ambassadors
ISLAMABAD, Feb 15 (SABAH): Ms. Shazia Atta Marri, Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation & Social Safety (PA&SS) and Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) visited on Wednesday, the Turkish and Syrian Embassy in Islamabad to offer heartfelt condolences and sympathies to peoples of both countries on devastating earthquake that struck Turkiye and Syria.
Ms. Shazia Marri expressed her heartfelt sympathies with the ambassadors and said there are no words that can console and soothe the anguish of peoples of both countries. She said her heart goes out to all the victims of this natural calamity. She conveyed the solidarity of government and people of Pakistan to their brothers and sisters in Turkiye and Syria. She stated that in this hour of need, the people of Pakistan are standing shoulder to shoulder with their Turkish and Syrian brothers and sisters. She prayed for the speedy recovery of those who were injured in the devastating earthquake. She noted her thoughts in the visitor’s book at both embassies.
Federal Minister commended the resilience of Syrian people who have stood tall in face of overwhelming odds in recent years. She hoped that Syrian people and leadership will show the same resilience at this difficult hour. She said that people of Syria, especially women and children were facing gargantuan difficulties already. She expressed her desire to Syrian Ambassador, Dr. Ramez Alraee that soon they will meet in happy times.
Turkish and Syrian ambassadors expressed their gratitude towards the people and government of Pakistan for their outpouring support and sympathies. They took the opportunity to thank Ms. Shazia Marri for her profound condolences and sympathies.
Federal Minister also visited the home and Humanist and Peace Activist beyond borders Ms. Samana Malaika Raza to offer Fateha on the death of her mother. Her brothers Syed Ahsen Raza Kazmi, Deputy Attorney General of Pakistan and Mohsin Raza Kazmi received Ms. Shazia Marri at the house. She prayed for the higher ranks of the departed soul.
She also offered condolence with Syed Ahsan Raza Kazmi, Deputy Attorney General of Pakistan on death of his mother, who was also mother of prominent Humanist and Peace Activists Ms. Samana Malaika Raza. She prayed that may Almighty Allah grant the departed soul highest place in Jannah.
