Shabir Ahmed Shah urges world to hold India accountable for war crimes in IoK

SRINAGAR, Jan 13 (SABAH): The incarcerated All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader and Chairman Democratic Freedom Party Shabir Ahmed Shah has urged the world community to take effective notice of the worsening political and human rights situation in the Indian occupied territory of jammu and Kashmir.

In his message from Tihar jail the DFP leader while voicing his concern over the unending bloodshed and state sponsored violence in the region said that it was unfortunate that the innocent civilians were being killed by Indian secret agencies to achieve their sinister designs.

Terming Rajouri killings as a handiwork of the Indian secret agencies, Shabir Ahmed Shah said that the Indian army has a notorious track record of killing people to serve their vested interest. He said that massacre of 35 Sikhs at Chatisingpora, killings of five innocent civilians at Pathribal and 23 at Wandhama speak volumes about the deadly violence India has been using as a state policy to paint a negative picture of Kashmiris’ ongoing liberation struggle.

Shah while demanding an independent investigation into the recent killings at Danghri village in Rajouri said that it was quite astonishing to see that these killings were being used as a pretext to revive the so called VDCs and create a ground to arm the BJP activists in the area.

Shah also voiced the persecution of Muslim youth and continued cordon and search operations in the area. He said that following the incident Indian police have arrested dozens of innocent Kashmiri youth in Dhangri village of the district. He said that the police have dubbed the arrested youth as militants to justify their illegal detention.

Urging the global community to take effective cognisance of the worsening political and human rights situation in the region, the APHC leader said that the world community should play its due role to hold India accountable for the crimes it’s forces have been committing in Kashmir.
