Shabbir Ahmed Shah urges G-20 nations to boycott it’s upcoming event being hosted by India in IoK

SRINAGAR, April 13 (SABAH): Senior All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) leader and Chairman Democratic Freedom Party Shabir Ahmed Shah has urged the member countries of G-20 to boycott its upcoming event being hosted by India in the UN recognized disputed territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

Highlighting the Indian government’s nefarious designs behind the move, Shah said that the Indian government’s motive behind arranging the G-20 meeting in Srinagar and Leh was an attempt to hoodwink the international community.

Referring to the Indian government’s PR campaigns aimed at promoting its so-called normalcy narrative, Shah said that the Indian government has a notorious history of using falsehood as a state policy to achieve its strategic goals.

“New Delhi, which in brazen violation of the UNSC resolutions had unilaterally and unlawfully changed the special status of Kashmir in 2019, has since then been remorselessly peddling lies to be-fool the global community on Kashmir”, the illegally detained leader said, adding that Modi government’s motives behind holding the G20 Summit in Kashmir was to deflect world attention away from the simmering situation in the region and white wash  crimes its forces have been committing against Kashmiris.

Urging the G-20 countries to take a holistic review of the prevailing situation in the region, he said that it was high time that the member countries of the highest forum should realize the Indian government’s motives and the meeting’s far-reaching consequences on the Kashmiris’ ongoing struggle for the right to self determination.

“We hope that members of the Group will not allow the Indian government to use this meeting to project its baseless normalcy narrative without giving due thought to what has been happening in the region for the past several decades”, he said.

In view of the highly volatile situation, Shabbir Ahmed Shah expressed the hope that the G-20 countries would revisit their decision and boycott the upcoming event to reinforce their commitment to a just and peaceful settlement of the Kashmir dispute.
