Sexual assaults on DrAafiaSiddiqui strongly condemned, CJP urged to take notice

ISLAMABAD, June 4 (SABAH): Strongly condemning the repeated sexual assaults on DrAafiaSiddiqui in FMC Carswell prison of the USA, Pasban Forum  Chairman Aziz Ur Rehman Mujahid here demanded of the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) to take a suomoto notice of it.

He said that the American lawyer of AafiaSiddiqui, Clive Stafford Smith, has disclosed that sexual abuse of DrAafia continues in the American jail, and just two weeks ago a jail security guard assaulted her as punishment.

He stated that Siddiqui has been “raped” by prison guards on at least two occasions, and has faced countless other incidents of abuse by both guards and other inmates.

Aziz Ur Rehman Mujahid said this is not the first incident of sexual abuse of DrAafiaSiddiqui in the US jail; incidents were also reported in the past, but sadly the government of Pakistan didn’t even take notice of them.

He said these incidents have shocked the whole nation but the Pakistani government has never condemned these incidents or demanded any explanation from the US administration. He said our Foreign Office is just deaf and dumb over the sexual assaults on its citizen in the US jail.

He said as the government of Pakistan is afraid of even taking notice of these incidents, we demand from the Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice QaziFaez Isa to take an urgent suomoto notice of this sad incident and order the sleepy government of Pakistan to wake up and discharge its responsibilities.
