RAWALPINDI, Aug 17 (SABAH): Several activities continued at Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan’s camp during a three-day expo held at Pak-China Friendship Centre with the cooperation of National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).
While briefing Country Director Helping Hand America Saleem Mansoori and office-bearers of Islamic Relief Qatar Charity, Rescue 1122 and other institutions, Central Vice President Ijazullah Khan and Director Disaster Management Fazal Mehmood said that disasters are influencing the world rapidly and continued that Pakistan remains under floods, earthquakes and other natural calamities.
They further said that during the ongoing year, Alkhidmat Foundation would train 10,000 volunteers regarding emergency disasters to prepare them for rescue, relief and rehabilitation activities. “Training at central, regional and district level is underway and 23 Response Centres have been established,” they added.
They further said that Alkhidmat Foundation prepared rescue bikes for the mountainous areas and added that its volunteers are continuing their services across the entire world including Pakistan.
“We had an opportunity to take part in Türkiye’s earthquake. We have consumed Rs 10 billion during the current floods in the country. Alkhidmat’s Taamir-e-Watan program is underway which includes rehabilitation of homes, mosques and educational institutions.
