Seven candidates on Senate seats from Punjab including Mohsin Naqvi, Pervez Rashid, Tallal & Ahmed Cheema elected unopposed
LAHORE, March 27 (SABAH): Seven candidates on Senate seats from Punjab including Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, Pervez Rashid, Muhammad Tallal Chaudhry and Ahmed Khan Cheema have been elected unopposed. Seven candidates had filed nomination papers on seven general seats. Technically seven candidates have succeeded unopposed.
On the general seats, five candidates of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and two candidates of Sunni Ittihad Council succeeded unopposed. PML-N’s Pervez Rashid, Nasir Mehmood, Ahad Khan Cheema and Tallal Chaudhry succeeded. Similarly, Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi also succeeded with the support of the government.
Sunni Ittihad Council’s Raja Nasir Abbas and Hamid Khan Advocate succeeded unopposed. Candidates including Barrister Waleed Iqbal, Shehzad Wasim, Ijaz Minhas, Dr. Musaddiq Masood Malik and Umar Cheema took the nomination papers back.
