Series of going fake audios, videos of former army leadership viral in favour of Imran Khan’s narrative underway
ISLAMABAD, Nov 02 (SABAH): Series of going fake audios or videos of former army leadership, viral in favour of former prime minister and Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan’s narrative was underway. After Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) former chief lieutenant general (retd) Ahmed Shuja Pasha’s video went viral; an audio relating to former chairman joint chiefs of staff committee (CJCSC) General (retd) Ehsanul Haq has gone viral on the social media. General Ehsanul Haq negated recording or issuing of such an audio when prominent journalist and anchor Saleem Safi contacted him.
According to details, several spurious audios and videos went viral in favour of Imran Khan’s narrative. Most of these videos were relating to former army leadership. A fake video attributed to lieutenant general (retd) Ahmed Shuja Pasha went viral in the near past while this time general (retd) Ehsanul Haq’s spurious audio of 15 minutes went viral. In the audio attributed to general (retd) Ehsanul Haq, it was advised to holding early elections for abstaining from bloodshed. In the audio attributed to General Ehsan, it is important to note that harsh language was used against his previous institution. Those who were familiar with General Ehsan; they recognize him as a moderate, well-mannered and a realistic person. Even he doesn’t wishes to be prominent through media.
Meanwhile, on the issue of audio viral, well-know journalist Saleem Safi through a tweet said that he himself contacted General Ehsan where he turned down the recording or issuing of such audio.
It is noteworthy here that, in the near past, all such spurious audios or videos had gone viral from the accounts of people affiliated with PTI. In the recent past, after Lieutenant General Sarfraz Ali’s martyrdom in helicopter crash in Balochistan, fake videos from dozens of PTI supporters’ accounts had gone viral.
Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Cyber Crime Wing and other investigation institutions initiated investigation of audio attributed to General Ehsan.
