Seekers Special Abled Society in collaboration with Ayesha Bashir Cleft Trust Hospital Gujrat organizes Awareness Session on Health Care Services

GUJRAT, Nov 07 (SABAH): Seekers Special Abled Society in collaboration with Ayesha Bashir Cleft Trust Hospital Gujrat, organized Awareness Session on Health Care Services focusing on the causes, issues, and treatment of cleft lip and palate for children born with Cleft Lips

Dr. Ejaz Bashir, Chairman of Ayesha Bashir Cleft Hospital Gujrat highlighted that cleft lip and palate are genetic conditions that affect a child’s ability to suckle and can lead to nutritional deficiencies. He mentioned that Ayesha Bashir Cleft Hospital in Gujrat has successfully treated over 25,000 children with cleft lip and palate, enabling them to lead normal lives.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Sajid Mahmood Shahzad emphasized the importance of helping others as a prerequisite for success in life, and he commended Dr. Ejaz Bashir’s contribution in treating children with cleft lip and palate.

Senior journalist Aziz-ur-Rehman Mujahid, President of Pasban Welfare Foundation Gujrat stressed the need for societal awareness and support to prevent these conditions in children. He also mentioned the harmful effects of smoking during pregnancy.

Ammara Maqsood Qadri, Secretary of Seekers Club, also praised the commendable efforts of the Ayesha Bashir Cleft Trust Hospital during the seminar. She lauded the hospital’s dedicated work in providing free treatment to children with cleft lip and palate, emphasizing the significant impact it has had on improving the lives of affected children and their families.

The seminar was well-attended by faculty and students from School of Medical Laboratory Technology and Pharmacy departments. At the end of the event, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Sajid Mahmood Shahzad presented shields and awards to the distinguished guests.
