SC summons report regarding issuance of Rs 21 biln from Ministry of Finance for holding elections in Punjab
ISLAMABAD, April 28 (SABAH): Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) has summoned report from the Ministry of Finance regarding issuance of Rs 21 billion for holding elections in Punjab.
According to sources, Supreme Court of Pakistan has summoned the report for issuance of Rs 21 billion from the Ministry of Finance. A notice has been sent in this regard from the Registrar Office to the Ministry of Finance.
A special messenger of the court has sent the notice to the Ministry of Finance. According to sources, report of Ministry of Finance has not yet reached Registrar Office, Supreme Court which is why the court has sent the notice.
Ahead of this, report from the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) regarding provision of the funds had been submitted in the SCP.
According to sources, report regarding issuance of the funds was submitted by the ECP in SCP during the previous night. In the ECP’s development report consisting of two pages, unavailability of funds had been mentioned.
It is noteworthy here that the SCP had sent notice to secretary ECP for a report regarding funds. On court’s orders, SCP has been informed about the unavailability of funds.
