SC orders removal of encroachments on Kidney Hill Park
KARACHI, Dec 28 (SABAH): The Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday has directed the concerned authorities to remove all the encroachments constructed on Kidney Hill Park in Karachi.
Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Gulzer Ahmed conducted hearing on a case pertaining to Kidney Hill Park at Karachi registry.
Earlier, SC had directed the Commissioner Karachi to remove encroachments from all the lands of Kidney Hill Park within two weeks.
An apex court bench, headed by CJP Gulzar Ahmed, directed the concerned authorities to issue eviction notices to residents of the encroachments before demolitions and submit progress report to the court.
The court while ordering to demolish homes constructed by a housing society on the encroached land, warned that a contempt of court notice will be issued in case of non-seriousness.
On the other hand, the court while hearing a case about tempering in land record, ordered concerned officials to place on record a report showing details of government land under encroachment and that retrieved from land-grabbers.
“There are encroachments everywhere along the Superhighway. All your land has been encroached upon. Cites are being built along the Superhighway,” CJP Gulzar remarked.
