SC issues written order regarding demolition of Tejori Heights in Karachi 


KARACHI Nov, 12 (SABAH): The Supreme Court of Pakistan Karachi Registry has issued written order regarding demolition of Tejori Heights in Karachi. Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Gulzar Ahmed has ordered to demolish Tejori Heights in Karachi within four weeks time and also remove the debris for the site. 

The compensation will be given to the affectees within three months time. According to details, a petition was heard on 28th October at the Supreme Court of Pakistan Karachi Registry. Three member bench headed by CJP Justice Gulzar Ahmed ordered to demolish the illegally constructed building. The apex court has ordered in the written judgment to demolish the whole building and remove debris in four weeks time. 

The duration of demolishing the building will start from 29 October. The apex court ordered that before the demolition of the building the administration of Tejori Heights should bring out the files and other luggage from the building. The court order says that the Commissioner Karachi should make the complete list of the booking files and should enter the addresses of bookers.

 The court ordered that after the completion of files the Commissioner Karachi should submit the files in court and compensation should be paid to the bookers within three months time.

 The court has ordered to ensure full implementation of its order regarding the demolition of the Tejori Heights. The apex court directed that if the court order is not implemented in letter and spirit then the administration of Tejori Heights will be held responsible. 

The court directed that the demolition of building and removal of the debris will be the responsibility of Commissioner Karachi.
