ISLAMABAD, Aug 24 (SABAH): Supreme Court of Pakistan extended the decision of not arresting Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and former prime minister Imran Khan in murder case of lawyer Abdul Razzaq Shar.

A three-member special bench of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial and comprising Justice Sayyed Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi and Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail conducted hearing of the Abdul Razzaq Shar murder case.

While giving arguments, counsel for the chairman PTI, Sardar Muhammad Latif Khan Khosa said that the court showed patience when unpleasant situation arose during the previous hearing and continued it was welcoming that today the situation remained normal.

During the hearing, Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhel inquired did you become part of investigation on the order of the High Court, saying “you have to decide about it either you are going to become part of investigation or not.”

To this, Latif Khosa said he was not going to become part of the investigation and argued that articles of terrorism are not supposed to be used against Chairman PTI. He said that officers of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and Military Intelligence (MI) were part of the Joint Investigation Team which is why he would not appear there.

Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial said that other questions had still to be asked and remarked that hearing of the case could not be done in the absence of complainant’s counsel Amanaullah Khan Kanrani.

Latif Khosa requested the court to conduct hearing of the case as soon as possible. To this, the court said the case should be fixed for hearing after the court holidays.

Afterwards, due to bad health conditions of lawyer Amanullah Kanrani’s son, he could not appear before the court due to which the court adjourned hearing of the case. In this case, the court extended the decision of not arresting Chairman PTI Imran Khan in murder case of lawyer Abdul Razzaq Shar till the next hearing of the case.
