Sacrifices of people of Kashmir make it a nuclear flashpoint: APHC
SRINAGAR, Dec 22 (SABAH): The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has said that the stand and sacrifices of the oppressed people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir have made the Kashmir dispute a nuclear flashpoint.
The APHC also criticized the Indian BJP government’s militaristic and brutal approach, which puts the peace of the entire South Asia region at risk.
According to media reports, APHC spokesman Abdul Rashid Minhas in a statement issued in Srinagar condemned the arrest of innocent Kashmiri youth and the shifting of over a dozen political prisoners to Indian jails. He emphasized that Kashmir is not a land or law-and-order issue but pertains to the right to self-determination of over 15 million people in Jammu and Kashmir.
The statement further warned that India’s obduracy could ignite a nuclear conflict in the region if the United Nations fails to address the unresolved Kashmir dispute in line with its Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
The spokesman also called for the United Nations to take notice of the deteriorating human rights situation in the occupied territory and intervene to resolve the dispute in accordance with international law.
The APHC said that the Indian BJP government and its establishment, led by the highly corrupt and communal Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, is keeping Jammu and Kashmir under a military and police siege.
The spokesman added that the Indian government is determined to crush the Kashmiri people’s struggle for freedom through brute force and black laws. The APHC concluded that delaying a solution to the Kashmir issue has grave consequences for global peace.
