Ruling coalition parties would not be allowed bargaining as was done regarding governor & administrators: Hafiz Naeemur Rehman

ISLAMABAD, April 28 (SABAH): Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Engineer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman on Friday made it clear that ruling coalition parties would not be allowed bargaining on the lines of governor and administrators.

Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman expressed these views while addressing a press conference after All Parties Consultative Meeting held in connection with national census of 2023. Media Coordinator Shahid Shamsi was also present on the occasion.

He further said that census of 2017 was spurious which is why it should not be made a foundation for the new census. He added the parties who confirmed the previous census were accountable to residents of Karachi.  He stressed upon the quarters concerned to admit 30 to 40 million of population of the city whereas Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) hell-bent upon making this city a village of Sindh.

If the population of the city was not properly counted the Jamaat-e-Islami will bring it to fore, he said, and added it will also stage violent protests at large scale. He said they have always raised concerns in this regard and the facts were put forth before the meeting. He said they have fought the case of the Karachities after being fully prepared as the quarters concerned rights of the residents of the city by not counting half of the city, adding such results were not acceptable all.

“Besides bringing forth reservations, I also presented suggestions. More than 100 campuses have been established across the length and breadth of the city. All the complaints would be conveyed to the government,” he added.

Hafiz Naeemur Rehman furthered it was not possible that on one side population of rural areas was increasing while on the other side population of urban areas was decreasing whereas masses always shift from villages to cities. He said that Jamaat-e-Islami will keep on raising the voice for the Karachiites, and added the city would not be allowed to become a village of Sindh. He also demanded that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s presence in the next meeting be ensured.
