Ruling coalition agrees on dissolving National Assembly on August 9
ISLAMABAD, July 31 (SABAH): The ruling coalition has agreed on dissolving National Assembly on August 9.
According to the Constitution for dissolution of assemblies before time, election to the Assembly shall be held within a period of 90 days after the dissolution while on completing the term of the assembly these shall be held in the period of 60 days.
On dissolution of assembly before time, the parties belonging to the ruling coalition will have enough time for preparations of the general elections.
On the other side, sources claimed that the ruling coalition was expected to review the short list of the caretaker prime minister and that name of former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi was also being considered.
According to details, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and its allied parties have completed the consultation process regarding the dissolution of assembly.
In the recent days, PML-N, PPP, JUI-F, Balochistan National Party-Mangal(BNP-M), Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party, National Party and other coalition parties exchanged views on names of caretaker prime minister, holding of general elections and dissolution of National Assembly.
Former prime minister and PML-N supremo Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif also participated in the consultation process and he tried to remove reservations while contacting former president Asif Ali Zardari and JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman when the different among them erupted.
According to sources, five names have been short-listed for the caretaker prime minister in the ruling coalition; however, it these names would be reviewed and name of former premier Shahid Khaqan Abbasi was also being considered.
