Rulers are evading from elections due to their zero performance: Sirajul Haq

HAFIZABAD/ISLAMABAD, Aug 06 (SABAH): Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Sirajul Haq has said that rulers were scared of people for their zero-performance due to which they were not ready for holding elections in the country.

Sirajul Haq expressed these views while addressing a public gathering at Hafizabad and a women convention at Lala Musa, Gujrat on Sunday. He said that those who complain about the courts and institutions should brief the nation that who is responsible to put them in the right direction.

Emir Jamaat-e-Islami said those were given powers once and again, why did they not bring reforms in the courts, institutions, police stations, land record offices and industries besides in agriculture, education and health sectors.

Sirajul Haq said Jamaat-e-Islami wanted across the board accountability of those who looted Toshakhana and national kitty. He was of the view that the country was burning in the fire of inflation and anarchy as dozens of innocent people were martyred in Bajaur.

In Bahawalpur, he lamented the parents were mourning that their daughters were not safe at educational institutions. “The universities and colleges have been converted into the stations of narcotics and blackmailing. An innocent girl is lying in a Lahore hospital and her bones have been broken. Anarchy in Balochistan is at its climax. Dacoits are ruling Sindh. All of its responsibility lies on the rulers,” he noted.

Only a single option left with the nation is to bring Islamic revolution through the vote, he said. He appealed to the nation to standby Jamaat-e-Islami for the sake of supremacy of law and justice, across-the-board accountability and getting rid of interest-based economy of the country.

Moreover, emir Jamaat-e-Islami promised that Jamaat-e-Islami after coming into power would ensure the property rights for the women while separate women universities also be established for them. “Strict laws would be put in place for safeguarding honor of women,” he added.

Meanwhile, during an interview with a private TV channel, Sirajul Haq while taking dig at the government said that now its tenure is going to be completed it has woken up for holding digital census which is indeed delaying tactics in holding general elections in the country.

He said Jamaat-e-Islami is of the stance that elections should be held as soon as possible and in least period, the people should be given an opportunity to give their mandate while fulfilling constitutional and legal requirements.

Sirajul Haq remarked, “Now the meeting of Council of Common Interests (CCI) has been held, why it was not held six months ago? Which shows that government’s performance is zero due to which it is evading from presenting itself before the people in the elections.”
