Rs 5 billion has been spent on the service of the masses in health field annually: Prof. Dr. Hafeezur Rehman
RAWALPINDI, Sep 28 (SABAH): President Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman has said that Rs 5 billion has been spent on the service of the masses in health field annually. He said that during the recent flood 33 million people were affected and out of them 600,000 women were on family way, adding that Alkhidmat Foundation established fund with Rs 1 billion money and registered 55 thousand women under “Safe Mother, Safe Family” program. He said that during the pregnancy all the medial facilities and food was provided to them, adding that the delivery process of 5 thousand women has been completed; meanwhile the remaining registered women will be provided all the facilities.
This was stated by Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman while addressing the inauguration of the Alkhidmat Razi Hospital Islamabad’s lab and charity dinner ceremony. Director Managing Committee Nasrullah Randhawa, MS Razi Hospital Dr. Tahir Farooq and others also addressed on the occasion. A large number of business and social personalities attended the ceremony. Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman said that the start of the Razi Hospital Rawalpindi was made from 5 marla building but today this hospital is rendering services in 6 buildings, adding that 70 thousand children have born in Razi Hospital Rawalpindi and 8 thousand children have born in Razi Hospital Islamabad.
Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman said that while formulating the health policy we had decided the very first day along with serving without profit, no patient coming to Alkhidmat Hospital having no money will not remain deprive from treatment. He said that initially with the amount of Rs 2 million the welfare fund was established for the patients but today monthly Rs 1 million is being spent in this form. He said that with the cost of Rs 780 million the expansion project of Razi Hospital Islamabad is continued. He said that whenever Alkhidmat Foundation started any project it was completed in a short span of time, adding that this target will also be completed by the philanthropists soon and process of serving the masses will remain continue.
Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman said that standard medical facilities are being provided to the masses through 50 hospitals, 69 medical centers, 305 ambulances and 12 mobile health units.
