Roznama Daily Times Lahore Group Editor Kazim Khan elected President CPNE for the year 2022-23


KARACHI, May 28 (SABAH): In the annual elections 2022-23 of the Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE), Roznama Daily Times Lahore Group Editor Kazim Khan has been elected President; meanwhile Group Editor Roznama Express Lahore Ayaz Khan has been elected Senior Vice President, Chief Editor Mahnama Kiran Karachi Amir Mahmood has been elected as Secretary CPNE. Editor Roznama Pakistan Today Lahore Yousuf Nizami has been elected Deputy Secretary General CPNE.

Chief Editor Roznama 92 News Lahore Muhammad Haider Amin has been elected as Vice President Punjab; Editor Roznama Nawai Waqat Islamabad Salman Masood has been elected as Vice President Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Chief Editor Roznama Awami Awaz Karachi Dr. Jabbar Khattak has been elected Vice President CPNE Sindh, Chief Editor Roznama Ittehad Peshawar Tariq Farooq has been elected as Vice President Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Chief Editor Roznama Balochsitan Express Quetta Arif Baloch has been elected Vice President CPNE Balochistan. Editor Roznama Pak Karachi Ghulam Nabi Chandio has been elected Finance Secretary and Chief Editor Roznama Suratehal Faisalabad Zubair Mahmood has been elected Secretary Information CPNE.

The CPNE office-bearers were elected during the meeting of the newly elected standing committee.

Meanwhile during the annual meeting of the Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE) resolution was passed reiterating resolve to face any kind of aggression against the media workers.

Newly elected President of CPNE Kazim Khan said that respect of the pen and camera will be ensured, adding that the political parties will respect the rights of the media workers.

Newly elected Secretary General of the CPNE Amir Mahmood demanded action against the responsible who harmed a woman journalist and media organizations during the long march.

It was also pledged in the meeting that no restriction will be tolerated against the freedom of expression and independence of media.

Prior to the annual meeting of the CPNE, the proposed amendments in the constitution of the CPNE were unanimously approved during the unusual meeting of the CPNE.
