Results of elections not being changes as the win of independent candidates is the proof of transparent elections: Dr. Gohar Iajaz 

ISLAMABAD, Feb 09 (SABAH): Caretaker Interior Minister Dr. Gohar Ejaz has felicitated the entire nation over peaceful conduct of the elections despite several security challenges. He said that the results of the elections are not being changes as the win of independent candidates is the proof of transparent elections. He said that the holding of 2024 elections was a tough test, adding that the there is no reality in the allegations of changing the results at night, adding that if they had any bad intension then these were not the election results. He said that four citizens were martyred on the day elections and 28 persons were killed in the terrorist incidents. He said that the people have voted to the independent candidates in Khyber Pakhtunkwha.

Addressing a news conference along with Caretaker Minister for Information Murtaza Solangi in Islamabad on Friday, he said the government made quick decisions to cope with terrorism threat during the elections.

Dr. Gohar Ejaz said protecting precious lives of the people was our foremost priority during polling process therefore we temporarily suspended the mobile phone service.

He said our each and every step and decision was aimed at ensuring the national security and we remained successful in this regard. He said we need to be united at the moment in the best interest of the country.

Dr. Gohar Ejaz said the government and entire nation are also proud of its armed forces, police and law enforcement agencies for ensuring safe and secure environment during the elections.

He expressed the hope that the new government would try its level best for the development and prosperity.

Speaking on the occasion, Murtaza Solangi said the government successfully served the purpose of conducting free and fair elections in the country. He said that there was cellular service closure on Thursday; however the internet was not stopped. He said that there was no ban on internet and social media, adding that those who were abusing yesterday are abusing today.
