Repression by the Modi regime intensified in IIOJK: Mushaal Mullick
ISLAMABAD, July 25 (SABAH): Mushaal Hussein Mullick, wife of unlawfully incarcerated senior Kashmiri Hurriyat leader Mohammad Yasin Malik has said that repression by the Modi led Indian fascist regime intensified in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
She was addressing a roundtable discussion “Human Rights crisis in IIOJK: what lies ahead during Modi 3rd term” organized by Ambassador Jauhar, President Institute of Regional Studies here in Islamabad.
Former SAPM for Human Rights and Women Empowerment Mushaal Hussein Mullick said that human rights violations have risen dramatically in IIOJK since late 1989 as occupied forces killed 96,320 innocent Kashmiris besides 11264 women also gang-raped.
She said that the Indian army, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the Border Security Force directly involved in rape, mass killings, torture, enforced disappearance, and suppression of freedom of speech.
Mushaal disclosed that more than 900,000 Indian troops have kept 8 million Kashmiris under an inhuman military siege.
Chairperson Peace and Council Organization said that the Indian security forces have picked up most of the innocent Kashmiris young men in operations designed to identify suspected militants.
She further said that torture in IIOJK is of exceptional brutality and explains the appalling number of people who have died in custody of the security forces.
Torture includes beatings and electric shocks, hanging people upside down for many hours, crushing their legs with heavy rollers, and burning parts of their body, she also explained.
Hundreds of Kashmiris have died in custody after arrests in “crackdown operations” to identify suspected militants, Mushaal Mullick added.
Former SAPM said that Modi and BJP leaders live in fool’s paradise and she fears that situation will become worse in the third term of Modi in IIOJK.
Mushaal Hussein Mullick has urged India to immediately lift the inhuman military siege and rescind illegal actions taken since 5 August 2019. She also called for global action against India’s human rights abuses in IIOJK.
