Religious scholars lambast heinous act of Quran burning’ in Sweden on court permission

ISLAMABAD, July 11 (SABAH): Religious scholars while slamming ‘Quran burning’ in Sweden on court permission in the name of individual freedom have asked the Western countries to shun deliberate blasphemous activities hurting souls and minds of the two billion Muslims globally.

Addressing a protest rally, Organized by Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Pakistan, the religious scholars said that extremists in Western world from United States to Europe were deliberately taking such steps to hurt minds and souls of the Muslims. 

They said that from publishing blasphemous caricatures published in France and Norway like countries to Quran Burning events are aimed at provoking Muslims to take law in their own hands as Muslims especially youths’ association with Islam is more than anything. 

They furthered that it has been observed in the past that following such anti-Islam and Islamophobia acts Muslims have taken retaliatory actions and Western world ignoring their own extremism and terrorism started labelling Muslims as terrorists and extremists.

Addressing the gathering JUI Islamabad leader, Maulana Waqas said that he was seriously reckoning that Western world was talking these steps are deliberately not only to hurt Muslims but check their reactions. He said that West led by the United States in past 33 years invaded various Muslims countries on false claims and just two years ago NATO was defeated in Afghanistan and thrown out from Afghanistan. 

He asked the United Nations should take serious actions on such matters, saying in Europe and America nobody was allowed to argue against the Holocaust in the name freedom of expression, media freedom and individual freedom but these countries are taking anti Islam acts deliberately and serious global legislation was needed on the subject with severe punishment.
