ISLAMABAD; August 30 (SABAH): Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has said that the recent terrorist attacks in Balochistan were fully planned and multiple terrorist organizations were involved in it. He highlighted that the government was well aware of the perpetrators behind these attacks. He said that Pakistan is going to host the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) conference in October, and the enemy has conspired to sabotage this conference. He stated that many elements were against the SCO conference being held in Pakistan, and does not want this conference to be organized in Pakistan. He underscored that such incidents are an organized conspiracy against the conference.
Responding to various points raised by Senators during the Senate session on Friday, Mohsin Naqvi said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif took all the relevant stakeholders in confidence for the establishment of lasting peace in Balochistan and held detailed consultations with the political parties, Dr. Abdul Malik and others in this regard. He emphasized that those who do not recognize the state and took up arms are terrorists. He reiterated that our message is loud and clear that those who took up arms will be dealt with iron hands. He further said that those who believe in Pakistan and the state are respectable for us and we will honor them. He also stated that there might be differences among those who recognize Pakistan, we are trying to resolve these issues and will continue to do so. He further said that everyone should unite against the enemies of the state.
The Interior Minister also said that the Prime Minister has allocated Rs 5 billion for Balochistan’s CTD and 8 billion rupees have been allocated for resolving the issues being faced by the people in various divisions of Balochistan. He stated that the Prime Minister has announced a policy to meet the shortage of federal officers in Balochistan and almost 40 officers are going to be posted in Balochistan on an immediate basis. He highlighted that more than 12 decisions were made in the meeting of Apex Committee yesterday. He said that he himself visited Balochistan twice in the last 4 days in order to resolve the issues.
Taking the floor, Leader of the Opposition Shibli Faraz stressed the need for political engagement to resolve the issues.
Later, the House was adjourned to meet again on Monday at five in the evening.
