Raja Zafar-ul-Haq says oppression in Gaza reached its peak, if the Muslim Ummah does not unite, no one will be able to prevent the world from destruction
ISLAMABAD, Feb 15 (SABAH): Senior leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Raja Zafar-ul-Haq has said that oppression in Gaza has reached its peak, and there is no one to stop it.
Raja Zafar-ul-Haq expressed these views while addressing the first session of the International Palestine Conference organized by Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan on Saturday. He said those trying to help the oppressed are being stopped, adding if the Muslim Ummah does not unite at this time, no one will be able to prevent global destruction.
He congratulated Jamaat-e-Islami on successfully organizing the conference and reiterated that oppression has reached its peak worldwide, with no one to stop it. Those helping the oppressed are being obstructed. He said so far, 61,000 people have been martyred in Gaza, while 20,000 bodies remain buried under rubble while the world’s superpower stands with Israel, and the United States is pressuring Muslim countries. If the Muslim Ummah does not unite now, no one will be able to prevent global destruction, he added.
He further said that when it was announced that Palestinians would be expelled from Gaza and resettled in Saudi Arabia and Egypt, Jordan’s king refused to accept them in Jordan. Australia was the first country to oppose this scheme, followed by European nations, he said. The veteran politician suggested including Mushahid Hussain Syed in the committee being formed on this issue.
Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan’s Secretary-General, Ameerul Azeem welcomed all participants to the conference, saying that Britain’s era of dominance is over, history is changing, and neither Kabul nor Gaza has fallen—someone else will fall instead. He said conscientious people worldwide stand with the Palestinian cause, and Palestine will soon be free. He emphasized creating a favorable environment for Gaza’s reconstruction.
Dr. Muhammad Azmi, head of Malaysia’s Islamic organizations’ coalition, emphasized the need for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza and an immediate halt to Israeli settlements. He acknowledged that Muslims have failed to stop this oppression and stressed the importance of having a strategic plan to make the conference successful. He called for mass mobilization of people in support of Gaza.
Jamaat-e-Islami’s central leader, Asif Luqman Qazi, welcomed all participants on behalf of his party, warning that Gaza’s Muslims face a threat following Trump’s statements. The world is shifting toward resolving issues through force, he mourned.
The genocide in Gaza has not been prevented; rather, Israel has been supported in its actions. The United Nations lacks an enforcement mechanism for its resolutions. Muslim world leaders have abandoned Palestinians, while the public remains in solidarity with them. Peace in Gaza is a global issue, and the world has a responsibility to work towards it. Palestinian leader and President of the Islamic World Youth Forum, Dr. Ashraf Awad, also addressed the conference.
