Raja Pervez Ashraf warmly felicitates Christian community on the eve of Christmas day

ISLAMABAD, Dec 24 (SABAH): Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervez Ashraf has said that the role of minorities for development and prosperity of nation is irrefutable. He also said that Islam teaches about tolerance, forbearance and respect for all religion. He said that Christian community like all other minorities enjoy full freedom to celebrate their days of religious significance with freedom and respect.He expressed these views while expressing warm felicitation to Christian community on the eve of Christmas day which is being celebrated across the world with reverence and jubilation.

Raja Pervez Ashraf said that constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan ensures freedom, security and social inclusion of all communities irrespective of cast creed and religious differences. He said that all minorities enjoy freedom to celebrate their rituals and events as per their desires in Pakistan.

While acknowledging the role of Christian community in the development of country, he said, “The Christmas day reminds respect, reverence and freedom emphasized by all religions of world.” He also said that the world should pledge on this reverent day to play their active role to stop genocide of Palestinians and Kashmiri people.
