Raja Pervez Ashraf pays rich tribute to sacrifices rendered by martyrs of Turkiye to keep alive democracy
ISLAMABAD, July 14 (SABAH): Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervez Ashraf has said that sacrifices rendered by people of Turkiye on 15th July 2016 to keep alive the flame of democracy is unmatchable in annals of political history.
Raja Pervez Ashraf said that the resolve and bravery manifested by common people in Turkiye to save democracy is indicative to reality that it is people ‘s will which ultimately decide the fate of nation. He also said that both Pakistan and Turkiye enjoy strong bilateral relations deeply rooted in centuries old traditions and values.
He expressed these views while addressing the event of commemoration of 7th anniversary of Democracy and National Unity Day at Turkish Embassy Islamabad. The day was celebrated as Victory of Democracy.
The Speaker Raja Pervez Ashraf has said that the People of Pakistan took pride to stand with Turkish Brethren always. He also paid special honour to the sacrifice of over 250 martyrs who paid the ultimate sacrifice for revival of democracy. He also said that Both houses of Pakistan’s Parliament passed unanimous resolution expressing solidarity with Turkiy’e and it’s people.
Speaker also said that Pakistan and Turkiy’e always stands with each other in difficult times specially during natural disasters, both extended their support to each other wholeheartedly. The Speaker also expressed belief that Turkiye would continue to develop under the leadership of President Tayyip Erodogan. He also said that enhancing Parliamentary contacts between both Pakistan and Turkiye pivotal for regional prosperity.
Dr Mehmet Picaci Turkiye Ambassador in Pakistan expressed gratitude to Speaker for gracing this event. He said, ” Pakistan and Turkiye enjoy close relations deeply rooted in centuries old values and traditions.” He also said that this day reminded to world about sacrifices offered by common people in Turkiye to save democracy in Turkiye.
