Raja Pervez Ashraf pays rich tribute to Martyrs of Karsaz tragedy on 18th October 2007
ISLAMABAD, Oct 17 (SABAH): Speaker National Assembly and Former Prime Minister of Pakistan Raja Pervez Ashraf paid rich tribute to martyrs of Karsaz Tragedy in Karachi. He said that flourishing democracy and parliament in Pakistan owes to sacrifices rendered by leaders and political workers of Pakistan People’s Party for the cause of democracy. He also said that sacrifices offered by Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, Mohtarma Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and hundreds of workers of Pakistan People’s Party indicate the ever readiness of PPP’s workers and its leaders to offer their lives for democracy and Parliament.
While paying heartfelt and rich tribute to martyrs of Karsaz tragedy in Karachi, he said that such sacrifices are unforgettable and ever-green parts of the annals of Pakistani political history. He also added, “I myself witnessed this act of terrorism against innocent political workers where hundreds of political workers were martyred for the cause of democracy.” He paid rich tribute to courage of the workers of the Pakistan People’s Party to advance the cause of democracy. He also said that democracy is the only governance system to resolve current socio-economic challenges. He prayed for all those who lost their lives in the Karsaz tragedy.
