Raja Fahim Kayani meets Kashmiri activists, lauds role of Mubeen Shah, Asif Dar

Says coordination among the diaspora groups is need of the hour to intensify lobbying efforts to expose Indian belligerence in IIoJK

ISTANBUL, August 03 (SABAH): Coordination among the diaspora groups is need of the hour to intensify lobbying efforts to expose Indian belligerence in Indian Illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIoJK), said Raja Fahim Kayani, during a visit to Istanbul, Türkiye.

“If not now, then when,” asked Raja Fahim Kayani, during marathon meetings with Kashmiris and allies of Kashmiris in Istanbul, urging unity among Kashmiri diaspora groups. Raja Fahim Kayani said people in IIoJK look at the diaspora to bring them relief.

The Tehreek-e-Kashmir UK leader was on a brief trip to Istanbul to meet Kashmiri diaspora leaders including Dr. Mubeen Shah and Dr. Asif Dar at Kashmir House Istanbul.

“Everyone has to contribute in whatever way possible,” said Kayani strongly suggesting coordination among different Kashmiri groups.

“The case of Kashmir dispute is strong in terms of legal and international relations but what is more important is that Kashmiris are morally correct and those who support them are on right side of history,” Kayani said.

The Tehreek-e-Kashmir UK leader said Europe is an important region from where voices of Kashmiri freedom movement must find space.

“But what is needed is that Kashmiris need to come to a common understanding to put forth their point of view at different government and non-governmental institutions,” he said.

Lauding efforts of Mubeen Shah and Asif Dar, Kayani said: “no one can silence Kashmiris and their allies until there is upright leadership.”

“We must cultivate young leadership, encourage role models and take lessons from legacies of Shaheed Syed Ali Geelani and Shaheed Ashraf Sehrai for they stood for honor and dignity of Kashmiris which they saw only possible after Kashmir is freed from illegal occupation of India,” Kayani said.

Raja Fahim Kayani also met several other non-Kashmiri allies and thanked them for their support to sacred Kashmir cause.

On sidelines, Kayani met and thanked Turkish lyricist and author Turgay Evren for his contributions to Kashmir freedom struggle.

“Role of arts and digital campaigns have achieved a special place in freedom movements and likes of Turgay Evren have attained special place in hearts of Kashmiris in IIoJK,” Kayani said.
