PTI leadership’s allegations of rigging are in fact a confession of Imran Khan’s defeat in upcoming bye elections: Marriyum Aurangzeb

ISLAMABAD, July 13 (SABAH): Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership’s allegations of rigging are in fact a confession of Imran Khan’s defeat in upcoming bye elections.

In a statement, Marriyum Aurangzeb said as a prime minister, Imran Khan continued to disobey the laws, orders and rules of the Election Commission of Pakistan. She said that Imran Khan and his ministers not only openly violated ECP rules while in power, but also threatened it.

She said, on the one hand, PML-N always obeyed the law and election rules, even its ministers resigned to abide by the ECP rules, while on the other, PTI threatens ECP. The Minister said that Imran Khan is not ready to bow before the law and rules as he is not a law-abiding person, who is abusing and threatening the Election Commission daily.

She said that ECP is actually the target of Imran Khan because of the foreign funding case and Imran and his ministers continued to campaign in the bye-elections during their tenure in power.

She said that on the contrary, upon the directives of the ECP, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif canceled his visit.

Marriyum Aurangzeb said that Imran Khan had campaigned in Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Azad Kashmir elections in violation of clear orders of the ECP.

Meanwhile Marriyum Aurangzeb has expressed grief over the sad demise of veteran actor Tanvir Jamal. In a tweet, she said Tanvir Jamal had been a leading personality of Pakistan Television and remained attached with PTV for 35 years.
