PTI leaders lambast Faisal Vawda for failed bid to sabotage Long March
ISLAMABAD, Oct 27 (SABAH): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) strongly reacted to Faisal Vawda’s failed attempt to sabotage the party’s ‘Haqeeqi Azaadi Long March’ and he was served show-cause notice to explain his position within two day or else his party membership would be cancelled.
PTI Sindh President Ali Zaidi issued Vawda show cause notice for violating party’s discipline by giving statements against party policies and guidelines and ‘end of story’.
Earlier, PTI Central Secretary General Asad Umar reacted that Faisal Vawda’s statement did not represent party policy and views, as PTI President Sindh has been told on the instructions of the Chairman PTI Imran Khan to issue show cause notice to Faisal for violating party policy.
In a show cause notice, Zaidi asked: “This is in serious violation of party rules as per constitution therefore you are requested to submit a reply within two days of this notice stating why your party members should not be cancelled.”
“Till that time your party members is hereby suspended. You are not allowed to hold any party office or represent the party in the media,” he added.
Zaidi stated that Vawda tried to damage PTI Long March. Interestingly all channels including PTV covered the presser so it’s clear that the imported government launched him but he made no sense.
“When Imran Khan has clearly issued instructions for all to remain peaceful, what weight does his presser carry,” he questioned.
Reacting to Vawda’s presser, PTI Senior Vice President Fawad Chaudhary said that there should be some material in front of him, but there was no connection, as nothing was seen in his press conference. He said that PTV did not show the swearing-in ceremony of Parvez Elahi but it gave to his press conference full coverage, adding that the journalists of the strategic media cell of PML-N started tweets related to the press conference.
PTI Chairman Chief of Staff Senator Shibli Faraz in his reaction stated that Faisal Vawda’s presser was a shoddy and disjointed attempt to distort facts and undermine the long march. However, he added that people of Pakistan did not eat grass. “Azadi march will inshallah achieve its noble objectives,” he added.
PTI Senior Vice President Dr. Shireen Mazari strongly reacted and said: “So here is how things were done. Vawda announced his presser and many channels received calls to cover live including PTV.
She asked how did callers know content of presser to push for this coverage? Mazari said that immediately after the presser, Rana Sana warned Vawda’s words should be taken seriously, adding that Nawaz Sharif was ready for his press talk immediately after.
“Synchronised activities to what end? Nothing new in Vawda talk except attempt to do some sensitive whitewashing and sabotage PTI Long March,” she added.
“Now if anything untoward happens fingers will point in a particular direction. Staged events create unexpected fallout,” she added.
