PTI is inciting violence, which is not acceptable in a civilized society: Marriyum Aurangzeb


ISLAMABAD, May 24 (SABAH): Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb has said the writ of the state will be upheld and armed gangs cannot be allowed to harm lives and properties of the people.

While addressing a press conference in Islamabad on Tuesday, Marriyum Aurangzeb said the government is trying to stabilize the economy and provide relief to the people, while on the other hand, the fascist mindset of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is aimed at disrupting businesses and country’s economy.

The Minister said PTI is inciting violence, which is not acceptable in a civilized society. She urged media to play its due role, enabling people to distinguish between inciting violence and the freedom of expression.

She said they resorted to violence inspite of their promise to remain peaceful during their infamous long march in 2014.

She questioned how they will remain peaceful when they are talking of a bloody long march. She said that the Punjab and federal governments have decided that no compromise will be made on the writ of the state and protection of the citizens, protection of traders’ community, small businesses and schools will be fully ensured.

Marriyum Aurangzeb said the person who is trying to create has even did not condemn the martyrdom of the police constable in Lahore. She said that the firing was carried out from the rooftop of the PTI’s ticket holder Sajjad Bukhari and in result of firing a police man was martyred. She said that the martyred police personnel has left five little children behind.

Marriyum Aurangzeb said that she pays tribute to the martyred police personnel. She said that Imran Khan was prime minister of country till 11th April, adding that prior to this Imran Khan could have announced the fresh elections, adding that Imran Khan had not announced the because he was sure that the coalition partners will not leave his government. She said that there is intelligence report that these are armed people, adding that any bloody march which is threat for the lives and property of the people, no constitution and democracy permit this kind of march. She said that person whose language is not peaceful how he will carryout the peaceful march.  

Marriyum Aurangzeb said that if anyone will come after announcing to carryout attack and will come after announcing bloody march then how he could be permitted to do this. She said that these are equipped with arms and the proof of this is the martyrdom of the police cop in Lahore on Monday, adding that these people want unrest in the country. She said that today redlines have been drawn and no compromise on these redlines, adding that country is passing through unusual circumstances today. She said that these people had announced to provide 10 million jobs and 5 million houses but they have made 6 million people jobless and people are unable to pay rent of their houses today.
