PTI has failed to control corruption & introduce good governance: Sirajul Haq

LAHORE, Jan 22 (SABAH): Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Emir Sirajul Haq has said the PTI has failed to control corruption and introduce good governance.

Had the measures been taken in the beginning of the PTI tenure, the improvement would have been visible in every sector, Sirajul Haq added while addressing a training workshop for the JI workers at Mansoorah on Saturday.

Sirajul Haq said it was not the JI but international organization (transparency international) reported the increase in corruption during the last three years. On the other side, he said, the prime minister was virtually unaware of the important developments from de-valuation of rupee to inflation. He (prime minister) told the nation that he learnt from the TV about the rupee depreciation, and advised people not to be worried when they complaint against massive increase in the prices of basic need items, said the JI Emir.

“Even the medicine prices have gone up by around 300 times in three and half years and they are beyond the reach of common man” said Sirajul Haq.

The IMF and World Bank, he said, had taken control of the economy and the secular and western NGOs were guiding the government on social issues, he added. The prime minister, he said, befooled the masses in the name of Madina state. He said the secular lobbies were behind the introduction of the different bills in the parliament aimed at destroying the family structure of an ideological Islamic state.

Sirajul Haq said the powerful people made fun of law and justice system and the poor spent years in jail on minor faults. He said the government failed to introduce any incentive for the youth as unemployment made the young generation patients of depression. He said the JI was struggling for real change which the three-ruling parties failed to bring about. He appealed to the people to vote for the JI to transform Pakistan into Islamic welfare state.
