PTI govt tried to promote secular agenda instead of transforming Pakistan into Madina-state in three & half years: Sirajul Haq


LAHORE, Feb 14 (SABAH): Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Emir Sirajul Haq has said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government has tried to promote secular agenda instead of transforming Pakistan into Madina-state in three and half years.

Addressing the students at “Haya Day” camp in front of JI Headquarters Mansoorah on Monday, Sirajul Haq said the Muslim youth of Pakistan was standing firm to protect the ideological boundaries of the country.

The Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba organized the countrywide events in connection of Haya Day. A brainchild of the then IJT Punjab University nazim and now JI Information Secretary Qaisar Sharif, Haya Day is being observed on February 14 in major educational institutions and cites since 2009. The IJT’s Lahore chapter established camps at different points which was visited by large number of people. Islamic literature and gifts were given to the visitors at camps.

Sirajul Haq said the incumbent and past rulers always displayed affection to the western culture and they did nothing to promote the Islamic values in the country which was created in the name of Islam. He said majority of Muslim population wanted Islamic system but the ruling elite was hurdle in the way.

He appreciated the students of the IJT for promoting culture of Islam in educational institutions and society. He said Islam ensured protection of rights of every citizen. He regretted Muslims were being targeted in different parts of the world but international community, rights organizations and UN were least bothered on human rights abuses against Muslim communities. He said the rulers of western democracies were failed to take measures to curb the Islamophobia in their countries. He condemned the dual standards of west on Muslim genocide in Indian occupied Kashmir, Palestine and Burma.

Sirajul Haq said the BJP-RSS governments in India were involved in worst crimes against Muslim minorities in the so-called biggest democracy but the UN and rights bodies mere issued empty statement against it. He highlighted the need of unity of Ummah and said it was the only way to stop injustice against Muslims in different parts of world.
