PTI govt has virtually failed to bring the country out of crises & lost the people’s confidence: Sirajul Haq
LOWER DIR, Mar 10 (SABAH): Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Emir Sirajul Haq has said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government has virtually failed to bring the country out of crises and lost the people’s confidence.
Addressing a public gathering in his hometown Lower Dir (KPK), Sirajul Haq said the masses wanted to get rid of the status quo parties and longed for a real change.
Hundreds of people from different political parties joined the Jamaat-e-Islami on them occasion. Congratulating them, the JI chief advised the newcomers to utilize their energy to transform the country into Islamic welfare state according to the manifesto of the JI.
The country, he said, needed fresh elections with people allowed to choose their representatives through free and transparent manners. The electoral reforms with the consensus among the political forces were needed before the polls, he emphasized, rejecting the so-called reforms introduced by the PTI including the use of electronic voting machines. He said the PTI planned a pre-poll rigging through the one-sided move.
Sirajul Haq criticized the former government, holding them equally responsible to the prevailing crises. He said the status quo forces were fighting against each other for self-interests with no one talking about the rights of the masses. He said the people life had turned miserable due to ongoing inflation and unemployment. He said the ruling elite had completely ignored the poor, indulging into friendly wrestling. He said the people had long been witnessing to the ruling elite noora khushti and were no longer ready to bear them.
Sirajul Haq said the solution to the country’s problems lied in the enforcement of Islamic system through peaceful democratic way. The interest-free economy, he added, was key to put the country’s economy on track. The JI, he said, was struggling for the both and it needed people’s support to bring about the real change. He appealed to the people to reject the status quo and vote for the JI to transform Pakistan into Islamic welfare state.
