PTI founder Imran Khan says he is not afraid of Faiz Hameed issue
RAWALPINDI, Aug 17 (SABAH): PTI founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan has expressed that he was not afraid of the Faiz Hameed issue.
If he were, he would not have called for a judicial commission on the matter.
He urged the establishment not to lead the country towards destruction.
In an informal discussion with journalists outside Adiala Jail, Khan criticised the establishment, accusing them of damaging the country and its institutions by appointing fraudulent individuals.
He appealed to the establishment to avoid pushing the nation towards further ruin.
Khan stated he was not intimidated by General Faiz Hameed’s arrest. He further said that his call for a judicial commission reflected his confidence.
He also highlighted the economic loss of $5 million caused by social media and internet bans.
The former prime minister asserted that allegations against him by Nawaz Sharif would be clarified by the Economic Survey of Pakistan.
He criticised Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa’s remarks for allegedly being the reason for Toshakhana reference on November 23.
Khan questioned how could a Chief Justice comment on a prejudice case and suggested that such remarks were meant to influence the judge hearing the case.
Khan accused the Chief Justice of acting in the interest of securing an extension.
He dismissed the need for direct communication with Zulfi Bukhari through a mobile phone, stating that he could send messages through his lawyers.
He declared the authorities frustrated while talking about the use of jammers in jail that blocked any use of mobile phones in the premises.
He also claimed that his lawyers could handle publishing articles if necessary.
Additionally, Khan announced his readiness to run for the position of Oxford Chancellor, indicating that he had already given instructions to Zulfi Bukhari regarding this.
