Protection of life & property of people of Punjab is our first responsibility: Maryam Nawaz

LAHORE, Sep 11 (SABAH): Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has ordered to provide bullet proof vehicles, jackets and special training to the police personnel.

A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz to review matters related to law and order, in which she ordered fool-proof security on Eid Milad-ul-Nabi and directed the police officers to go and meet the scholars. During the meeting, a proposal was made to increase the number of checkpoints, which was approved by the Chief Minister of Punjab.

During the meeting, Maryam Nawaz also ordered to give APC, bulletproof vehicles and bulletproof jackets to the police personnel immediately, while a grant of one billion rupees was also approved for the police.

Maryam Nawaz ordered special training for the police personnel posted at the border posts, strengthening and improving the border security check posts and also directed the restructuring and modern training of the border military police.

Addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister said that the protection of life and property of the people of Punjab is the first responsibility. Maryam Nawaz said that the police should develop the capability of pre-emptive action without waiting for a crime to be committed.

She further said that the attackers on the police check posts should be given a strong response so that they do not dare to attack again, police patrol should be arranged between the police check posts.

Senior Minister Punjab Marriyum Aurangzeb, Information Minister Punjab Azma Zahid Bukhari, Chief Secretary Punjab Zahid Akhtar Zaman, IG Punjab Police Dr. Usman Anwar and other senior officials attended the meeting.
