Protecting the life & property of Chinese brothers in Pakistan is govt’s foremost priority: PM Shehbaz

ISLAMABAD, Oct 07 (SABAH): Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif visited the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad on Monday to express condolence over the death of Chinese nationals in Karachi terrorist attack.

During his meeting with the Ambassador of China to Pakistan, Jiang Zaidong, the Prime Minister expressed his deep grief and sorrow over the death of Chinese citizens.

The Prime Minister said protecting the life and property of Chinese brothers in Pakistan is government’s foremost priority. He said the heinous conspiracy to damage Pak-China relations will not be tolerated at all.

The Prime Minister said he himself will supervise the investigation into incident.  He said the security arrangements for the foreigners will be further beefed up.

PM Shehbaz Sharif expressed the resolve that responsible elements of the incident will be identified and taken to task at the earliest.

On this occasion, the Chinese Ambassador expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for immediate response of the government of Pakistan following terrorist incident in Karachi and initiation of probe into it.

He also expressed his confidence in the government of Pakistan for the effective investigation of the matter, the immediate identification of the terrorists and bringing them to justice at the earliest.

Meanwhile Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has strongly denounced Monday night’s tragic incident in Karachi which resulted in the loss of two Chinese lives and injuring another.

In a post on his X handle, he offered heartfelt condolences to the Chinese leadership and the people of China, particularly the families of the victims.

PM Shehbaz Sharif said the perpetrators of this dastardly incident cannot be Pakistanis but are sworn enemies of Pakistan. He said an immediate investigation is underway to identify them and bring them to justice.

The Prime Minister said Pakistan stands committed to safeguarding Chinese friends and that no stone will be left unturned to ensure their security and well-being.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has also strongly condemned last night’s blast at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi.

In a statement today, she expressed regret over the loss of three precious human lives in the blast and prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured in the blast.

She said that the whole nation is united to eradicate the scourge of terrorism and terrorists cannot demoralize the nation with such cowardly acts.
