Prof Dr Ikram removed from his position as DG FDE
ISLAMABAD, July 31 (SABAH): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has removed Director General Federal Directorate of Education (FDE), Islamabad, Prof Dr Ikram Ali on immediate basis.
He has been sent back to his former institution Agriculture University, Rawalpindi, Government of Punjab on immediate basis.
Consequent upon the approval of the competent authority conveyed by the Prime Minister Office on July 31, 2023, Amjad Ahmed, Joint Secretary (BS-20), Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training has been allowed to hold additional charge of the post of director general, Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) for an initial period of three months with immediate effect.
Notifications have issued in this regard by the Deputy Secretary Ministry of Education Hameed Khan Niazi. Copies of the notification have been officially sent to the departments concerned.
According to the issued notification, the Prime Minister has approved to end appointment tenure of Prof Dr Ikram as DG FDE on deputation from July 31, 2023.
According to the notification, services of Prof Dr Ikram were not needed anymore.
It is worth mentioning here that employees, particularly female staff had a number of complaints against Director General Dr Ikram as in some cases he was accused of women harassment at workplace.
