Prof. Dr. Hafeezur Rehman visits medical camp set up in adjoining area of Ganda Singh inundated due to flood in Sutlej River
LAHORE, July 16 (SABAH): President Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman visited the medical camp set up in adjoining area of Ganda Singh Border inundated due to flood in Sutlej River. Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman reviewed the process of the distribution of the cooked food among the flood affectees and medical camps.
On the occasion President Alkhidmat Foundation Central Punjab Ikramul Haq Subhani, senior manager media relations Shoaib Hashmi, Program Manager of the Alkhidmat Disaster Management Asif Jamal and local responsible were also present.
On the occasion Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman held meeting with district administration and officials of the Rescue 1122 and said that in view of the current heavy rains and possible situation Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan has alerted its volunteers, adding that these volunteers will remain present along with rescue equipment in the bank areas of the rivers. He said that relief camps have been set up in adjoining areas of Sutlej, Ravi and Chenab Rivers.
Ikramul Haq Subhani while briefing about the situation said that cultivated land has been inundated in result of pre monsoon rains occurred on 8th and 9th July, adding that the rice crop was affected due to the rain and 5 to 6 thousand people have been affected. He said that Alkhidmat Foundation while taking stock of the situation has set up the relief camp at Talwar Check Post point, adding that in the camp the cooked food is being provided to the affectees along with provision of clean drinking water, medical facilities and fodder for the livestock. He further informed that on the daily basis along with provision of food among 400 to 500 people, free of cost medicines are also being provided to them after medical examination.
