President Zardari, PM Shehbaz express deep grief over the martyrdom of Lieutenant Uzair Mehmood Malik
ISLAMABAD, August 11 (SABAH): President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif have expressed deep grief over the martyrdom of Lieutenant Uzair Mehmood Malik.
In their separate condolence messages on Sunday, they prayed for higher status in heaven for the departed soul of Lieutenant Uzair Mehmood Malik Shaheed.
The President and the Prime Minister also commiserated with the bereaved family and paid tribute to Lieutenant Uzair Mehmood Malik Shaheed for presenting supreme sacrifice in the defence of the motherland.
President Asif Ali Zardari, in his message, expressed the resolve to continue actions against terrorists.
In his statement, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said officers and jawans of the Pakistan Army are actively busy in purging the Pakistani soil of Fitna Alkhawarij. He said the entire nation, including him, is standing should to shoulder with the armed forces in the war on terror. The premier prayed for the martyred officer and his family.
PM Shehbaz Sharif said that the entire nation stood by the army in Pakistan’s war against terrorism, adding that the martyrs and their families were the pride of the country.
Meanwhile the funeral prayer of Lieutenant Uzair Mehmood Malik Shaheed was offered in Peshawar on Sunday.
Corps Commander Peshawar, family members of the martyred, and civil and military officials attended the funeral.
Lieutenant Uzair Mehmood Malik Shaheed will be laid to rest at his native town in Attack district with full military honour.
He succumbed to wounds and embraced martyrdom at Combined Military Hospital, Peshawar.
According to ISPR, on Friday last, Lieutenant Uzair Mehmood Malik, leading his troops from the front, fought bravely and sent four Khawarij to hell in Bagh. However, during intense exchange of fire, the officer got critically injured and was under treatment at CMH Peshawar.
