President Zardari commends professionalism of Pak Navy in protecting the maritime interests of country

ISLAMABAD, April 19 (SABAH): Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Naveed Ashraf, called on President Asif Ali Zardari, at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Friday and congratulated him on assuming the office of the President.

The Naval Chief briefed the President about the operational readiness of the Pakistan Navy in safeguarding the maritime interests of the country. He highlighted that the Pakistan Navy had the capability to defend the national sea frontiers. The President commended the professionalism of the Pakistan Navy in protecting the maritime interests of the country.

Meanwhile President Asif Ali Zardari has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives and property caused by the recent rains in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

In a statement, the President said his sympathies are with the victims in these testing times. The President said all possible measures need to be taken for the rehabilitation and relief of the victims. He also prayed for those who lost their lives in rains-related incidents.
