President YPF Syeda Nosheen Iftikhar chairs first YPF Board Meeting
ISLAMABAD July 23 (SABAH): President Young Parliamentarians Forum (YPF), MNA Syeda Nosheen Iftikhar chaired the first meeting of the Board of YPF. Coordinator to PM on Climate Change MNA Romina Khurshid Alam along with MNAs Nawabzada Mir Jamal Khan Raisani, Makhdoom Zain Qureshi, Mubeen Arif, Muhammad Iqbal participated in the meeting.
After President YPF opened the floor, Ms Romina Khurshid Alam stressed to continue running YPF as a driving force and advocacy body for the promotion of child rights, Kashmir Issues, and rights of transgenders along with a platform to propose climate change mitigation policies on federal and provincial levels in an apolitical manner.
Makhdoom Zain Qureshi expressed faith in the new President of YPF utilizing this platform for cross-party collaboration and eliminating political polarization on the floor of the National Assembly. Special Secretary (Special Initiatives), Syed Shamoon Hashmi apprised the President YPF and other participants regarding visits planned to the provincial assemblies and with Governors to ensure effective alleviation of issues related to the broader society; for instance, monsoon flooding. Furthermore, the Special Secretary briefed President YPF that the Secretariat of YPF has been shifted from the Pakistan Institute of Parliamentary Services to the Parliament House.
Nawabzada Mir Jamal Khan Raisani stressed engaging and equipping young parliamentarians with information and statistics so that they are enabled to contribute effectively to the legislation.
Mubeen Arif emphasized the need to work in a bi-partisan way to promote socio-political certainty and in turn to secure the confidence of funding partners and agencies.
Muhammad Iqbal endorsed the suggestion of further strengthening collaborations with provincial assemblies and governors to ensure smooth implementation of policies such as Climate Change mitigation and for resolution of issues such as under age child marriage.
Syeda Nosheen Iftikhar endorsed the valuable suggestions and recommendations received as well as praised the participants for extending their kind cooperation and for promotion of bi-partisanship.
