President Asif Zardari confers Nishan-i-Imtiaz (M) upon Commander of Turkish Land Forces General Selcuk Bayraktaroglu

ISLAMABAD, April 29 (SABAH): President Asif Ali Zardari conferred the Nishan-i-Imtiaz (Military) upon Commander of the Turkish Land Forces, General Selcuk Bayraktaroglu at a special investiture ceremony held at Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad on Monday.

The award was conferred upon him in recognition of his illustrious services and contribution towards strengthening Pakistan-Turkiye defence relations.

Foreign diplomats and high ranking military authorities also attended the award investiture ceremony.

Meanwhile General Selcuk Bayraktaroglu, Commander of Turkish Land Forces called on Minister for Defence & Defence Production, Khawaja Muhammad Asif in Islamabad on Monday.

Defense Minister extended a warm welcome to visiting dignitary and expressed satisfaction over common understanding on regional and global geo-political situation. He appreciated Turkiye’s strong support for Pakistan on multiple foras. Defence Minister also stated that enhanced defence cooperation is an important aspect of our bilateral relationship, characterized by Joint Projects, Joint Exercises and Military Training.

Both sides acknowledged the strong relationship between their Armed Forces and committed to further expand defence collaboration.
