President Alvi starts mission of removing misunderstandings between Imran Khan & institutions


ISLAMABAD, Sep 15 (SABAH): President Dr. Arif Alvi has initiated the mission of removing misunderstandings between his close aide, former prime minister Imran Khan and institutions. The ice has started melting and statements of Imran Khan regarding the matter of giving extension to army chief clearly depict this situation.

During in an interview with a TV channel here on the other day, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior Vice President and former minister of state Ishaq Khan Khakwani claimed that a meeting was held between the former prime minister and Chairman PTI Imran Khan and powerful personality with the facilitation of President Dr. Arif Alvi, however added that the efforts are still afoot for political reconciliation.

He claimed that the meeting focused on repairing the misunderstandings prevailing between the chairman PTI and the institutions wherein President Alvi is playing pivotal role. 

Moreover, he claimed that President Alvi is a credible personality for both the parties and his word carries weight which is given significance by all.

Ishaq Khan Khakwani said he himself worked with Dr. Arif Alvi from 2011 to 2018 and found him a very wise personality, adding President also helped out in resolving numerous issues during the last stint of PTI government, erupted in wake of misunderstandings. This interview is on limelight from the political circles wherein some were found to be claiming that Imran Khan would have accepted the consultancy given to him on national issues. “Khan’s renewed thinking about institutions is not less than a puff of fresh air,” he claimed.

Meanwhile the critics are terming the current situation as Imran Khan’s U-turn. On the other hand President Alvi is continuing his efforts to bring big political parties closer on the national matters. PTI’s negotiating committee members Parvez Khan Khattak and Asad Qaiser are playing crucial role regard political reconciliation; they are also enjoying the confidence of the Aiwan-e-Sadr.

There is also fear of sabotaging the efforts of political reconciliation by some political circles. This is why the negotiations and contacts of the leaders of the big political parties for negations are being kept secret.
