President Alvi confers Hilal-i-Pakistan award on Chinese Vice-Premier He Lifeng recognizing his services for Pak China friendship & promotion of CPEC
ISLAMABAD, July 31 (SABAH): President Dr. Arif Alvi conferred Hilal-e-Pakistan on the visiting Chinese Vice Premier and President Xi Jinping’s Special Representative, He Lifeng, recognizing his services for Pakistan China friendship and promotion of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
A special award investiture ceremony in this regard was held at Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad on Monday.
Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Chairman Senate Mir Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani, Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Federal Ministers Rana Sanuallah Khan, Ahsan Iqbal Chaudhry, Muhammad Israr Tareen, Engineer Khurram Dastgir Khan, Marriyum Aurangzeb, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi, DG ISI Lieutenant General Nadeem Ahmed Anjum, Foreign Secretary Dr. Asad Majeed Khan, Sun Weidong, Vice Minister of Foreign Ministry, Charge’d Affairs, Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Pakistan Ms. Pang Chunxue and other dignitaries attended the ceremony.
The Chinese Vice Premier, He Lifeng played a prominent role in China’s international economic relations and implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative, of which CPEC is a flagship project.
As the Chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission, he was the instrumental in the planning and execution of multiple CPEC projects in Pakistan.
