President Alvi approves appointment of Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan as SC Judge, Justice Malik Shehzad Ahmed Khan as CJ LHC

ISLAMABAD, March 07 (SABAH): President Dr. Arif Alvi has approved appointment of Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan as Judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan. Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan was serving as Chief Justice of the Balochistan High Court.

The president approved the appointment under Article 175 A of the Constitution.

The President also approved appointment of Justice Malik Shehzad Ahmed Khan as Chief Justice of Lahore High Court.

Justice Malik Shehzad Ahmed Khan is the senior most judge of the Lahore High Court. Justice Malik Shahzad Ahmed Khan will take oath as Chief Justice Lahore High Court tomorrow (Friday).

Approval was also granted to the appointment of Justice Muhammad Hashim Khan Kakar as acting Chief Justice of Balochistan High Court.

The president made this appointment of the Acting Balochistan High Court chief justice in accordance with the Article 196 of the Constitution.
