President Alkhidmat Foundation Prof. Dr. Hafeezur Rehman reaches Beirut along with the relief goods for the war affectees
LAHORE, Oct 19 (SABAH): President Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman along with Vice President Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan Air Marshal (retd) Arshad Malik reached Beirut along with the relief goods for the war affectees of Lebanon. Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman said that homes have been destroyed in result of Israeli air attacks, adding that there is no room for war affectees in schools of Beirut and thousands of citizens are present under the open sky.
Alkhidmat Foundation has dispatched over 100 tonns relief goods including ration, warm clothes and medicines through a special chartered plane provided by the Pakistani people.
Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman held meeting with 1400 affectees present in 11 schools of Jamia Islamia Beirut and provided relief assistance money to the affected families and while expressing sympathies assured to provide every possible relief on behalf of Pakistanis.
Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman also visited the temporary dispensaries established in the schools and while considering the urgent needs purchased an ambulance and handed over it to the chief of the volunteers Dr. Fauzi. While talking on the occasion, Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman said that the immediate need of the homeless people is quilts, warm clothes, tents, sleeping bags and cooked food. He said that Alkhidmat Foundation has started taking steps in this regard and is hopeful that the relief operation for the families affected from war will be continued on behalf of Pakistanis. Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman said that we have requested the Pakistani government to dispatch two planes of relief goods to Beirut, adding that the volunteers of Alkhidmat Foundation are preparing these relief goods.
Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman said that after the provision of the two planes the relief goods will be dispatched to the war affectees of Beirut. The office-bearers of the Alkhidmat Foundation visited different schools and assessed the needs of the affectees and provided funds to the local NGOs for fulfilling the needs of the local people.
