President accepts resignation of Shahzad Akbar as Advisor to PM on Interior & Accountability
ISLAMABAD, Jan 26 (SABAH): President Dr. Arif Alvi has accepted resignation of Barrister Mirza Shahzad Akbar as Advisor to Prime Minister on Interior and Accountability.
The Cabinet Division, after President Dr. Arif Alvi’s nod, has issued a notification in this regard. The president has accepted the resignation of Shahzad Akbar with effect from 24th January. President Alvi approved the summary sent by Prime Minister Imran Khan after which the Cabinet Division formally issued the notification regarding the acceptance of the resignation of Shahzad Akbar.
Earlier on Monday, Shahzad Akbar tendered his resignation as Advisor to Prime Minister Imran Khan. He made the announcement through his account on social-networking platform Twitter.
In a post, Shahzad Akbar wrote, “I have tendered my resignation to PM as Advisor. I sincerely hope the process of accountability continues under leadership of PM IK as per PTI’s manifesto.” He further stated that he will keep on contributing as member of legal fraternity.
In July 2020, Shahzad Akbar was appointed as Advisor to the PM on Accountability and Interior. He was earlier working as Special Assistant for Home Affairs to the premier.
